Thrush Treatments
Thrush signs vary widely depending on the severity of the infection. Thrush infections are caused by the yeast Candida albicans which is a normal resident of the human body (digestive tract, skin, vagina, mouth).
It is with abnormal conditions that Candida begins to grow unchecked and can cause a significant infection in the mouth.
Heat and humidity, poor hygiene, and inflammation are some common triggers which can cause an outbreak. Use of immunosupressants, corticosteroids and antibiotic can also cause outbreaks.
Here the signs of thrush are covered.
Thrush signs:
- rash
- creamy white, painful patches on mouth surface (thrush, mouth candidiasis)
Thrush occurs more frequently in pregnant women, obese woman, or women with diabetes or taking antibiotics.
Diagnosis is typically by physical examination and laboratory examination of scrapings taken during the examination.
Thrush infection treatment is generally with corticosteroid to kill the yeast and amedications to relieve pain and itching.
